"Where are you, Nurse Dilly Bean? I need my twice-daily eyedrops too." |
"Nurse Dilly Bean, I don't need anything except LOVE-LOVE-LOVE! All day please!" |

A Tisket - A Tasket...A Little Silver Basket! Is this not just a darling way to serve yummy-in your-tummy french fries? After seeing this petite, metal basket filled to the brim with a golden, fried treat, Miss Dilly Bean was sure Martha had to be around the corner helping make each basket look just perfect. (Miss Dilly Bean looked and looked, but Martha was nowhere to be found.) The little basket paired with the little ketchup bottle was almost TOO MUCH cuteness for Miss Dilly Bean. She didn't want to, but Miss Dilly Bean MADE herself eat the picture-perfect treat. (Miss Dilly Bean is joking. She gobbled those little goodies right UP, UP, UP.) Hoping all of you treat yourselves to something that you want to gobble UP, UP, UP. Miss Dilly Bean |
"Put Up Your Dukes, Miss Dilly Bean! Let's Go! I'm Ready! Hit Me with Your Best Shot!" My...My...My...what silly talk from Dolley. (And where did you learn those expressions, Dolley?) Dolley, you are SO, SO, SO cute, but you are not Miss Dilly Bean's. Dolley belongs to...Miss Dilly Bean's sister. (Well, and her sister's family) She is the BABY of the pup family so that makes her a MESS, MESS, MESS! (In a wonderful way) "I'll let you go this time, Miss Dilly Bean. But remember, Love is a Battlefield." Um...no more Pat Benatar for you little Dolley. Hoping none of you have to put up your dukes today! Miss Dilly Bean |
Hello Little Readers! Do you all remember that Mr. Dilly Bean recently finished giving the Little Classroom new shiny painted walls so Miss Dilly Bean would be HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY? (And Miss Dilly Bean was HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY.) Now all the oodles of teachery stuff has to find its way over to the Little Classroom. The teachery stuff has been on vacation in Miss Dilly Bean's living room. Wake up Teachery Stuff, it's moving day! (Yawn...Yawn - Stretch...Stretch) Did you take your vitamins, Little Dolly? You've got a BIG job today. (Little Dolly says it can do ANYTHING!) Little Robot Welcome Kit, you are going to look SO CUTEY CUTE, CUTE on Miss Dilly Bean's bulletin board. Awww...Little Robot Welcome Kit said it had never been called CUTEY CUTE, CUTE. Teachery Books, you help Miss Dilly Bean all the time. She would never part with you! Little Storage Containers, your job is never done. You, Little Stool, are extra special. Do you know why? You have been with Miss Dilly Bean since her first year of teaching. You have to stay around, Little Stool. (Of all the critters, this little kitty ALWAYS helps Miss Dilly Bean when she comes in to fiddle-faddle with all the teachey stuff.) Thank you for all your help, little kitty. Little Lamp, you are just so sweet. Where, oh where did you come from? (Miss Dilly Bean's sister!) Miss Dilly Bean prays all the Teachery Stuff, and the Little Classroom, and Miss Dilly Bean have a wonderful year together. (She knows they will because teaching little cutie pies makes her HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY.) Hoping on your next moving day that everything goes well. (and that your dolly takes its vitamins...) Miss Dilly Bean |
Kitty here, kitty there... Yes, Miss Dilly Bean has critters everywhere! These little snuggle bunnies can usually be found on top of the washer and dryer each morning soaking up the sunny sun sunshine. Miss Dilly Bean even bought them their own little rugs to make sunshine snuggle time as snuggly as can be. Hoping all of you have a snuggle bunny and some sunny sun sunshine too. Miss Dilly Bean |
All Aboard! Miss Dilly Bean
is not ashamed to admit that while in
our nation's capital she was a TOURIST.
Being a tourist means you have
to ride the DC DUCKS!
(It really is a rule. Isn't that right, Little DC Duck Boat?) |
Of course, Miss Dilly Bean couldn't go be a TOURIST without her nephew. Once he heard about the NIFTY, NIFTY, NIFTY souvenir duck whistle he couldn't wait to go! (Miss Dilly Bean might be exaggerating a bit, but truly her nephew was a very good sport about being a TOURIST.) |
On the land portion of the duck boat tour, Miss Dilly Bean and her nephew saw oodles of the famous museums, statues, and landmarks. (But that's not what today's little blog story is about so keep reading.) It was time to head out to the Potomac River. Remember, this is a DUCK BOAT TOUR. You have to go in the water! |
This is the photo you care about, Little Reader. After SLOWLY zooming around the Potomac River, the duck boat captain stops right next to the AIRPORT. (It is on the other side of this photo. Take note of how close to land the little duck boat is.) The captain casually mentions what a great day it is because the winds are coming from the SOUTH which means the planes land in a different direction. Miss Dilly Bean STILL did not know where the captain was going with his little story. Then he casually pointed out that his boss sort of frowned on the next activity. Miss Dilly Bean was frowning a bit too. See that RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE LITTLE DUCK BOAT? Miss Dilly Bean's photo doesn't do the next moment true justice, but in a split second the BELLY of that BEASTLY plane was practically on TOP, TOP, TOP of the little duck boat. "Were you scared, Little Duck Boat?" Little Duck Boat said it was very scared, but luckily it all happened in just seconds. If Miss Dilly Bean had been a cat, she would have used one of her lives right then and there! |
So now Miss Dilly Bean can honestly say she has had a plane almost land on her HEAD and lived to tell about it. Plus she now has a NIFTY souvenir. Wishing all of you a chance to be a TOURIST somewhere and getting your own NIFTY souvenir. Miss Dilly Bean |
Those of you who REALLY know Miss Dilly Bean may have caught on to the teeny tiny fact that Miss Dilly Bean is SLOW, SLOW, SLOW to embrace technology. (She tends to find it a little intimidating.) So Guess What??? Miss Dilly Bean FINALLY got a "real" cell phone last month. (Some of you may be gasping...,but Miss Dilly Bean really did take the plunge.) Well, it turns out that little "real" phone is FUN, FUN, FUN! One of the best features is that Maizie, the peke, is not scared of the phone's camera, and Miss Dilly Bean can FINALLY get some little photos of her sweet Maizie. (Maizie is afraid of Miss Dilly Bean's traditional camera.) Thank you, Cell Phone Camera, for being just what Maizie needed. Hoping all of you find just what you need even if it means taking the occasional plunge. Miss Dilly Bean |
Miss Dilly Bean and her nephew bravely hopped onto D.C.'s subway system last weekend in hot pursuit of a restaurant the locals are known to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! |
Ted's Bulletin! A casual place known especially for their yummy-in your-tummy breakfasts. (Especially a CERTAIN part of their breakfast...) |
Look how they serve the water. Miss Dilly Bean gets really happy when restaurants let you serve yourself water. |
Okay...the yummy-in your-tummy breakfast arrives, but you need to look closely at one HOMEMADE item in particular. Do you see it??? |
Now do you see it? Miss Dilly Bean had NO IDEA a poptart could be homemade! (She only thought they came in those shiny, silver packages. If you ALL knew they could be homemade please don't tell her and make her feel silly.) |
At the end of the yummy-in your-tummy breakfast you can go up to the pastry counter where the pastry chef is BAKING, BAKING, BAKING and buy as many HOMEMADE poptarts as you would like. Miss Dilly Bean and her nephew did just that! They got brown sugar cinnamon and blueberry cheesecake poptarts. |
Miss Dilly Bean wishes you could smell the light, flaky, buttery crust with the sugary filling and happy sprinkles on top. Miss Dilly Bean and her nephew hopped back on the subway, sped back to their little lodging, and TRIED not to gobble up the entire box of HOMEMADE poptarts right then and there! (They are proud to say they showed self-control!) Hoping all of you have some HOMEMADE happiness in your life too. Miss Dilly Bean |
Destination...back home for Miss Dilly Bean! (Well, sort of, she is at her sister's on Pup Patrol.) Do you like her fancy suitcase zipper on the upper left corner??? |
A surprise thundery thunderstorm tumbled and rumbled through her neck of the woods last evening. The rainy raindrops were most appreciated. Thank you for that, Thundery Thunderstorm. |
The tumbly and rumbly part of you, Thundery Thunderstorm was not to Lucy's taste though. |
There was no choice, Thundery Thunderstorm. Only one place could save little Lucy. It was...the LAUNDRY ROOM with her queen size doggy bed and freshly laundered blankets. You all remember how Lucy feels about freshly laundered blankets...right? |
"You won't get me, Thundery Thunderstorm! I'm almost SAFE, SAFE, SAFE." |
Pardon Lucy for showing her little back-end. She is going to fix that. Right, Lucy? |
"You'll never find me now, Thundery Thunderstorm!!!" |
"Awww...Miss Dilly Bean. You gave me away!" |
Miss Dilly Bean tucked sweet Lucy back under the cozy cover so the tumbly, rumbly, thundery thunderstorm would stay FAR, FAR, FAR away. (Don't read this blog today, Thundery Thunderstorm. Lucy's hidey spot is a SECRET.) Hope you all have a little hidey spot for when you need one. Miss Dilly Bean |
Miss Dilly Bean is having so much FUN, FUN, FUN on her trip that she is a wee bit behind on her BLOG, BLOG, BLOG. Please forgive her. She promises she has OODLES of future blogs running around in her swirly, little head! Hoping all of you are able to take some time out and have FUN, FUN, FUN too! Miss Dilly Bean |
